Do you NEED to do CARDIO to lose weight?

“Do I need to be in a calorie deficit and do cardio to lose weight?” So in order to lose weight, yes you have to be in a calorie deficit, and there are 2 ways of achieving that either by cutting down on your total calorie consumption by eating less or increasing your total energy expenditure by doing more cardio. Now whichever one you choose is totally up to you and both will support a calorie deficit meaning you don’t have to do any cardio if you don’t want to. It is however good for general heart health and does allow you to eat a little bit more, but it doesn’t really have many direct benefits to hypertrophy, and can even impair recovery in other muscle groups if done too much. So if you do want to do cardio, I recommend a few light-moderate intensity sessions a week of something you find enjoyable and easy to stick to, but again it’s totally up to you to decide what to do and whether or not you wish to include it.

I hope that helps and subscribe for more lifting tips! #Gym #Shorts
